UCONNECT Voice Quick Start Guide

Reach UC Softphone

The Reach UC App is a softphone, otherwise known as a software-phone instead of a hardware phone you would find on someone’s desk. The softphone works by connecting your user/line to the uCONNECT Voice Service, so you can make and receive calls.

Web App

The Reach UC Web App is the easiest and most reliable way to use the uCONNECT Voice Service.

Installing Web RTC (Reach UC Web) as an Application with Microsoft Edge

The best way we’ve found to use Reach UC is by installing the Web App using your Microsoft Edge Browser.

  1. Navigate to the ReachUC Web link
  2. (if required) Sign in & allow notifications / access to microphone & camera
  3. Click the three dots at the top-right of the Edge browser window
  4. Select Apps > Install this site as an app

Once your app is successfully installed, you can navigate to App Settings to configure a few more things.

  • Three Dots > App Settings

From here, you have a few more options but most importantly, set the permissions for the app this way you can use your phone successfully. Click on See permission details for webrtc.reachuc.com

Reach UC Settings for Desktop and Web

Audio and Microphone

To adjust your audio and microphone settings, click on your name and navigate to Settings

From here, select the Media Sources tab and choose your default audio, microphone, and video pacture devices

You can test your settings by clicking one of the buttons below, to verify your speakers/headphones, microphone and camera are working correctly.

Voice Management Portal

The Voice Management Portal is used for administering your phone system, and some advanced features. If you do not know what you are doing, please do not modify any settings for your phone system without consulting us first! You could end up with a misconfigured phone system setup and could potentially miss calls for your business.

Access From the Web

The uCONNECT Voice Management Portal can be found here: https://voice.umbrellaitgroup.com

Access From Reach UC

You can access the entire Voice Management Section through your Reach UC App by clicking on the PBX tab on the left.

Common Options and Features

Password Reset and Account Settings

Your account & password for uCONNECT Voice is unified across all areas, including Reach UC and the Voice Management Portal. To reset your password for any of these, you can do the following:

Self-Service Password Reset or Username Lookup
  1. Log on to the Voice Portal and select Forgot Password or Forgot Login Name
  2. Typically, your login name is your company email address.
  3. A Password Reset link will be emailed to you, and once reset, you can log back in.
Request a Password Reset from Someone Else

Company administrators have the ability to reset passwords within your organization. Reach out to a manager or department-head to have them reset your password.

If there is nobody at your company who can reset your password, you can reach out to Umbrella and submit a support ticket.

Call Recording and Playback

Log into the Voice Management Portal and navigate to the Reporting tab.

You should see a list of phone calls for a specified date range, and the ability to Listen or Download the audio recording of the phone call by clicking one of the corresponding buttons on the right. You can listen to the recording online, or by downloading the audio file and opening it with your favorite media player on your device.

Call recording is not included in every service, there is an additional charge per-line for call recording capability. You can reach out to Umbrella Sales ([email protected]) if you do not have call recording enabled on your account and you wish to enable it. You can tell that call recording is not enabled if you do not see the Listen or Download buttons in your list of phone calls.
